Piano
Why Piano ?
Learning piano builds a strong foundation for understanding music theory and other instruments. While piano was not the first instrument to be created it does have a linear design that helps the learner to understand the logic of music from left to right and low pitch to high pitch.

Will I perform?
Yes. Performing is a part of learning. Every student will be given the opportunity to perform during Master Class. Master Class Performances are where we perform and recieve peer feedback while learning the art of performance.
Is this class a private class or will I learn with a group?
Piano is taught in a group setting which enhances our motivation to learn expereincing community.
What materials do I need?
We will be using "Visualize Keyboard Scale sand Modes" by Malia Jade Roberson, PHD published by Hal Leonard. In addition you will choose one song to master to be performed for Master Class. The song will be chosen in collaboration with your instructor.
Voice
Why Voice ?
Voice is the only instrument that you can carry with you everywhere expereince by your body creating sound. Learning voice builds a strong foundation in understanding the way the voice works when expereinced in the context of music theory. One of my favorite instruments is the voice because I love to hummm songs. Learning voice is not only learning to breathe and sing but also replicating sound using resonance to project for others to hear.
What will I learn?
Octaves and Pitches
Solfedge ( movable Do)
Major and Minor Scales; Pentatonic, Major and Minor Blues Scales.
Voice placement ( Chest Voice, Middle Voice, Head voice)
How to sight read sheet music
How learn songs and song form.
Will I perform?

Why Rhythm ?
Rhythm is the pulse and heart beat of all music. Rhythm is what makes music different and exciting. Rhythm is melodic and palpable. Learning Rhythm will builds a strong foundation for understanding a varity of meters and how sounds work together on percussive instruments.
What will I learn?
4/4, 2/4/, 3/4 and 6/8 Meters ( the more common meters)

Theory
Why Theory ?
Learning theory unlocks the logic of why music works. Theory help you to understand the tools of music nad how to use them to creat new beauful music. Knowing theoury will expand your knowledge of music and the way it works to create sound.
